‘Stressed’ Cristiano Ronaldo plots future plans with Jorge Mendes
Cristiano Ronaldo is concerned by the state of Manchester United, with the team down in seventh in the Premier League and continuing to struggle under new coach Ralf Rangnick. His agent Jorge Mendes has flown to England this week to meet with the No.7, with the pair evaluating the current situation.
REVEALED: The most valuable players in the world
As reported by The Sun, a source close to the player has stated that Ronaldo is worried about Manchester United’s poor form.
“Cristiano is very concerned about what is happening at United,” the source started. “The team is receiving a lot of criticism and he knows he is regarded as one of the leaders. There are quite a lot of problems and Cristiano is feeling the pressure and is very stressed by the situation. He desperately wants his United move to be a success, but he is starting to recognise that winning trophies with the current set up could be a real struggle.”

Nothing ruled out for Cristiano Ronaldo
In terms of solutions, Ronaldo and his agent aren’t ruling anything out at this stage, not even a possible transfer away from Old Trafford. The source continued: “Jorge came to see him and they spent time chatting through how things are going, what they think are the problems, how they might be solved and what the solutions may be. Nothing has been ruled out.”
Ronaldo’s new year worries
Ronaldo himself has admitted that he isn’t happy with how Manchester United are doing in the Premier League. In an Instagram post shared at the turn of the year, he said: “I’m not happy with what we are achieving in Manchester United. None of us are happy, I’m sure of that. We know that we have to work harder, play better and deliver way more than we are delivering right now. Let’s embrace 2022 with a higher spirit and a stronger mentality. Let’s take us above and beyond, let’s reach for the stars and put this club right where it belongs!”
Manchester United are into the last 16 of this year’s Champions League and will take on Atlético Madrid, while their main domestic goal over the coming months is to qualify for the 2022/23 edition. That could be key in determining Ronaldo’s future, as the top scorer in Champions League history will want to keep adding to his impressive legacy in Europe’s premier competition.
