Chelsea can undoubtedly lay claim to one of the biggest and most stacked squads in European football.

That feat is perhaps best illustrated by the fact that the club’s back-up goalkeeper is none other than Kepa Arriabalaga, who the Stamford Bridge signed from Athletic Bilbao in 2018 for a staggering £72 million.

Although the Spanish shot-stopper was never signed as a reserve keeper, the fact that Chelsea can afford to keep such a talent on their bench rather than sell him is a testament to the Premier League side’s financial might.

Well, that is until now. According to the Sun, Chelsea will perhaps look to draw a line under Kepa’s four-year spell at the club and finally cash in on a player that hasn’t quite worked out at the club.

So if Chelsea do end up selling the 27-year-old keeper, how much can they expect to make from the deal?

How much is Kepa Arrizabalaga worth?

Although Kepa has struggled to nail down a starting role at Chelsea due to Edouard Mendy’s form, that certainly isn't down to the Spaniard’s talent. When called upon for the odd match, the keeper has done perfectly well for the first team.

As such, if he were to leave in the summer, Chelsea would be selling a keeper that would walk into most first teams across Europe’s top leagues. And with a contract until 2025, there’s really no bargaining power to be had from the buying club.

However, despite all there’s also no denying that Kepa’s time on the Stamford Bridge bench has had a detrimental impact on his reputation as a player and, ultimately, his value in the transfer market.

As such, Kepa is currently worth just €17 million and could potentially be sold for as much as €22m in the current market.
