How much could Man Utd sell Van de Beek for this summer?
Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has suggested that Donny Van de Beek's future at the club will depend on who the next manager is.
It now seems clear that Rangnick will not be continued his role as manager of the first team after this season and will be replaced by a permanent appointment.
As things stand, that replacement looks most likely to be Ajax manger Erik Ten Hag, who remains the bookies favourite for the job.
And that may end up being good news for Van de Beek, who worked with Ten Hag at the Dutch club. Which Rangnick may now be alluding to.
"I really like Donny. Reviving his Man Utd career next season, why not?" said Rangnick in a press conference.
"But it also depends on the new manager and the way he wants to play, that's what Donny told me in conversations we had together."
However, if Man Utd still want to move the on-loan Everton player on this summer, they will be keen on getting a good price for the player, even though his time at Old Trafford hasn't quite worked out.
So how much could Man Utd sell Van de Beek for this summer?
How much is Van de Beek worth?
While Van de Beek may have struggled to impose himself at Man Utd, there’s no denying that the former Ajax star still has plenty of talent and value to the Old Trafford club.
Indeed, it was only 18 months ago that the Premier League giants happily forked over the best part of €40 million to sign the Netherland’s international and at 24 years of age, Van de Beek is still some way from reaching his peak years as a player.
Another factor that will certainly come into play when Man Utd consider selling the midfielder this summer is the fact that a number of clubs were vying for the player in the January transfer window and that is unlikely to change this summer if he is put up for sale.
As such, despite his misfortunes in Manchester, Van de Beek is still worth an impressive €30m and should the Old Trafford side look to sell him this summer they could potentially demand as much as €38m for the playmaker. And perhaps even more if he truly shines for Everton between now and the end of the season.
