Inter forward Lautaro Martinez is a player who has been extensively linked to leading clubs around Europe over the course of recent weeks.

Manchester United, Barcelona and Arsenal have all been stated to have an interest in the Argentina forward, who has long been linked with a move from away from San Siro.

The closest he seemed to come to a departure was in 2020, yet the Covid pandemic put the brakes on a potential switch to Barcelona.

Since then, he has committed himself to Inter via a five-year contract that was signed in October 2021. This new deal, however, has done little to quell speculation over his future.

Indeed, it was reported by Eurosport that Arsenal are ready to put an offer worth €330,000 (£275,000) per week on the table for the 24-year-old.

Lautaro's agent speaks out

Alejandro Camano, who is the player’s agent, has commented on the most recent developments.

Speaking to FCInternews, he explained: “Lautaro doesn’t think about himself, he only thinks about Inter.

“He wants to help and wants fans to be happy. Inter haven’t scored many goals lately, but it’s just a process and will return to scoring, that’s for sure.

“Lautaro wants Inter to win, he is not interested in personal success. We must remain calm because Lautaro is happy at Inter and is happy with Inter fans.”

He had been in red-hot form prior to Christmas, scoring 11 league goals in 16 matches, but has failed to find the net in Serie A since the winter break.

Man Utd, Arsenal and Barcelona will also have analysed his Champions League performance with some concern. In 22 outings at that level, he has scored only six goals, five of which came in Inter’s failed attempt to get out of the 2019/20 group stage. He has neither a goal nor an assist in the competition this season.

Lautaro’s future, then, does not necessarily lie awa from Inter, especially as the San Siro club will likely demand a high fee after losing several other key stars in recent months.
