Zidane to demand Ronaldo if he takes over at PSG
It is looking increasingly likely that Zinedine Zidane will take over at Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The French giants may be 13 points clear in Ligue 1 with Mauricio Pochettino in charge, but his future will largely depend on how the club performs in the Champions League as that is the holy grail for PSG and their owners.
Reports from France have also suggested that Pochettino isn't entirely happy in Paris and could look to return to the Premier League, having previously been manager of Tottenham.
The Argentine has been strongly linked with Manchester United and could be appointed as the new manager of the Red Devils when Ralf Rangnick moves into an advisory role.
Should Pochettino leave, PSG will look to bring in Zidane.
According to the Daily Mirror, one of Zidane's initial demands, if he gets the PSG job, will be for the club to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
Zidane and Ronaldo enjoyed a hugely successful period at Real Madrid, winning La Liga and no less than three Champions League titles.
Ronaldo at Man Utd
In the summer of 2021, Ronaldo completed a sensational return to Man Utd after informing Juventus of a desire to leave.
After it became clear that Ronaldo wanted to leave Juve, it was actually Manchester City who became favourites for his signature.
However, when his availability was reported, Man Utd reacted quickly to not only bring the club hero home, but also to keep him out of the clutches of City.
As a collective, Man Utd have been disappointing in the 2021/22 campaign. They were never really involved in the title race and face a major battle to qualify for the Champions League, while they were recently knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties at home against Middlesbrough.
Ronaldo, individually, has impressed, however.
In 22 starts in all competitions, he has scored 14 goals and recorded three assists.
He is in a bit of a dry spell currently as he has scored just one in his last six games.
