What are Arsenal's chances of signing Robert Lewandowski?

Arsenal fans will certainly be excited at reports that the club are preparing an offer to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.
The Polish superstar is one of the most prolific forwards in world football and has been for some time, winning everything possible with Bayern including the Champions League in 2020.
Surprisingly, though, Lewandowski's future is far from certain as his contract with the German giants expires in the summer of 2023.
He will turn 34 in the summer, and Bayern are reportedly wary of renewing him onto a massive contract for more than a one-year extension.

Fabrizio Romano reported this week that Lewandowski's future is "open", writing on Twitter:
"Robert Lewandowski's future situation is absolutely open. He's focused on second part of the season with Bayern - but his current contract expires in 2023 and he wants a new deal to stay. There are still no talks between Bayern and his agent."
According to FourFourTwo, Arsenal have now entered the race for his signature, but face fierce competition from Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
Manchester City are favourites to sign him should he leave Bayern, with Pep Guardiola keen on a reunion with Lewandowski after the pair worked together so successfully at Bayern.
Can Arsenal sign Lewandowski?
It seems highly unlikely that Lewandowski would be willing to move to Arsenal at this current stage as the Gunners are still in a rebuilding process under Mikel Arteta.
The fact that the club cannot guarantee Champions League football every season will prove to be a major stumbling block on any plans to bring the Bundesliga striker in.
But, obviously, that can change if they manage to qualify for the tournament this campaign.
The likelihood of Arsenal signing him will also be largely dependent on other teams.
Man Utd need to decide whether to stick with Cristiano Ronaldo, Chelsea have Romelu Lukaku - even if he is underperforming, Real Madrid will put all their focus into Kylian Mbappe, while Liverpool don't tend to sign players of Lewandowski's age.
