Kai Havertz is the Chelsea player aged 23 or under with the most potential, according to SciSports.

FootballTransfers' transfer valuations and player potential metrics are calculated in collaboration with SciSports, a world-leading football analytics agency that assesses over 60,000 professional footballers worldwide.

They have determined that Havertz has the highest potential ability of Chelsea's current crop of players aged 23 or under.

The Blues have become a hotbed for young talent in recent years, and while they were forced to sell the likes of Tammy Abraham, Marc Guehi and Valentino Livramento last summer, not to mention Fikayo Tomori, the club are still hot on producing future generations of their squad.

Not every academy product needs to make the first-team, but one or two each year will allow the club to develop and grow sustainably. Lewis Hall and Harvey Vale are two such examples of this, but due to the vast number of youngsters Chelsea have, they don't quite make the top 10.

Chelsea young players with the most potential

Havertz, as mentioned, is the man who tops the list, with his trophy-winning goals no doubt a factor. While he hasn't quite hit the heights of his Bayer Leverkusen days at Stamford Bridge, the Germany international is clearly a top talent, seen by his goals in both the Champions League and Club World Cup finals.

He was also exceptional against Liverpool in the 2021 Carabao Cup final, and was desperately unlucky to end up on the losing side.

Behind Havertz comes a graduate of the Chelsea academy, Mason Mount. The Englishman first showed his talent to the world at Vitesse Arnhem and Derby County on loan, and has been a stalwart under both Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge. Capable of playing deep in a midfield pivot, or further forward as a wide No.10, Mount's versatility and energy is beloved by Tuchel.

Next comes Callum Hudson-Odoi, who was exceptional in the Chelsea youth teams, but hasn't quite translated that to the first-team. His serious Achilles injury in 2019 hampered his progress, and he arguably hasn't been the same player since. However, he certainly has the talent to be a vital component of a title-winning team.

Fourth in this list is Reece James, who has experienced a huge improvement since Tuchel took charge. The right-back was in England's Euro 2020 squad, and is one of the country's greatest talents.

American winger Christian Pulisic is fifth, with the hope that he will rediscover his form from the back-end of the 2019/20 season. He scored 11 goals in his debut year at Stamford Bridge, but hasn't those levels since.

Conor Gallagher is currently on loan at Crystal Palace, but he is included on this list, with his potential rising since shining at Selhurst Park. His impressive displays for Patrick Vieira's side earned him a first senior England cap, and he is on course for double digits for Premier League goals this season.

Fellow loanee Levi Colwill is next, and although he is playing in the Championship, his exceptional performances for Huddersfield Town have been recognised. The centre-back is set for a big future at Chelsea, but may need another loan move in order to cement his place in the first-team.

Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja, and Billy Gilmour round out the top 10, with the trio all having impressive seasons for Chelsea, Southampton and Norwich respectively.
