Manchester City were, once again, one of the biggest spending clubs in world football in the 2021/22 season.

During the summer they broke the British transfer record to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for £100 million.

They were also strongly linked with a massive £150m deal to sign Harry Kane, though that deal didn't materalise as Tottenham remained firm on their stance not to sell the player.

The money spent on Grealish was a lot, but they have made a decent amount of money from player departures, too.

Here are the major players who left Man City this summer, and how they have performed for their new clubs.

Ferran Torres - €55m to Barcelona

One of the biggest deals of the transfer window saw Barcelona pay an initial €55m for Ferran Torres, who at the time of the deal was out with a fractured foot.

There were questions raised as to how cash-strapped Barca could afford the deal, but things were pushed through when Torres made it clear he wanted to return to Spain.

He seems to be trusted by head coach, Xavi, and has nine goal contributions (five goals and four assists) in 12 starts since making the switch to Camp Nou.

Angelino - €18m to RB Leipzig

Angelino's positive performances for RB Leipzig on loan and then on a permanent basis raised questions about why he was allowed to be sold.

But, Joao Cancelo has made the position his own as an inverted full-back, while Oleksandr Zinchenko is a more-than-capable back up.

Angelino probably needed the move to kickstart his career and he has flourished in Germany and has five Bundesliga assists to his name this season.

His role as a flying full-back is also vital to how Leipzig play.

Jack Harrison - €13m to Leeds

With Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips missing most of the current season, more pressure has been put on the likes of Jack Harrison to impress for Leeds.

In his first ever Premier Leason season on loan at Leeds, he managed eight goals and eight assists.

But, his goal contributions has declined as he has only scored five and recorded a single assist so far.

He may well come good, but he hasn't hit the heights of his loan spell yet.

Lukas Nmecha - €8m to Wolfsburg

In the 2020/21 season, Lukas Nmecha enjoyed a brilliant season for Anderlecht, scoring 21 goals in all competitions for the Belgian giants.

Even though City needed reinforcements in the centre-forward position in the summer, Nmecha was never deemed good enough and was eventually moved on to Wolfsburg.

In Germany, he has a promising return of six goals in just 10 Bundesliga starts, but his form has been inconsistent largely due to an ankle issue suffered in December which doesn't seem to be going away.

Sergio Aguero - FREE to Barcelona

After suffering from constant injury issues in his last couple of seasons with the club, Sergio Aguero left Man City on a free transfer to Barcelona.

He was set to form a dream tandem with close friend Lionel Messi, who eventually left for PSG.

Tragically, Aguero was forced to retire from football altogether after just a couple of appearances due to a heart issue.

Eric Garcia - FREE to Barcelona

Due to Eric Garcia being a product of La Masia, there was an element of the returning prodigal son when Barcelona announced the signing of the Spanish defender.

However, even though he has been taught to play the Barca way from a young age, he has actually looked out of place on occasion.

Indeed, it is physicality with what he struggled with most, and you can see why he is not first choice in the team, with Gerard Pique and Ronald Araujo ahead of him in the pecking order.

Barca are desperate to sign another centre-back this summer, too, which doesn't bode well for Garcia.
