Mane sends transfer message: I want to play with Mbappe
Sadio Mane has revealed that he would love to one day play with Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe – but he has put one condition on that association.
Mane finds his future under question. The Senegal star has a contract that expires in 2023 and has not committed himself to a new deal.
He will not, however, be drawn into discussing the possibility of leaving the club.
Asked by France Football if he would one day return to the country, where he made his professional breakthrough with Metz, he replied: “It’s a very good question. How can I answer you when I’m still under contract with Liverpool and I’m not used to talking about this in the media? Anything can happen in football.”
Mane was pushed further on the issue and was quizzed as to whether he would one day like to play with Mbappe.
To this topic, he had a far more definitive answer.
“Sure!” he replied. “It would be great to linked up with Mbappe. He just has to come to Liverpool – I’m sure he would like it!”
Mane’s Ballon d’Or ambition
Mane has now won most of the game’s major team accolades between Liverpool and Senegal, and he admits he has now set his sights on different goals.
“The World Cup is my new dream,” he said. “Of course, we have to quality, but I want to believe in some crazy achievements and winning the World Cup with Senegal is one of them. If we succeed, I’ll get closer to all the great players who are trying to win the Ballon d’Or.
“If I win the World Cup, that will be a goal. I’m so hungry, I stay on the lookout for everything good to win. And the Ballon d’Or is part of that. But I don’t want to talk too much about it now.”
Mane was part of the Liverpool team that defeated Brighton 2-0 on Saturday.
