What is the transfer value of Man Utd, Real Madrid and Liverpool target Bellingham?
Borussia Dortmund aren’t going to be winning any silverware this season but they can still take a huge amount of pride in Jude Bellingham’s development at the club over the past eight months.
The England international has quickly developed into one of Europe’s most promising midfielders as he’s marauded from box to box in the Bundesliga this season.
However, as is often the case with Dortmund, once their stars begin to shine a little too brightly, bigger clubs take notice and tend to swoop in for them.
And that certainly seems to be the way things are heading for Bellingham in this summer’s transfer window.
According to Fichajes, Manchester City and Real Madrid are set to lock horns over the midfielder in the coming months. However they may have to wrestle with both Manchester United and Liverpool, who have both been heavily linked with the Dortmund star in recent months too.
REVEALED: The most valuable players in the world
Bellingham himself as said that he is not in a rush to move back to England, where he made his professional debut with Birmingham City, but that is not about to stop the rumours.
But how much would they need to spend to attract him to either Old Trafford or Anfield?
Jude Bellingham’s transfer value
FootballTransfers values Bellingham at €78.5 million – making him the 16th most valuable player in football.
This value is reached by using an algorithm that uses hundreds of in-game data points to gain an accurate assessment of his performance and, therefore, value on a match-by-match basis. It also takes into account such as contract length, age and status of the club he is playing for.
Dortmund, meanwhile, will be reticent sellers this summer. After seeing Jadon Sancho depart for Man Utd last year, they are almost certain to see Erling Haaland leave in 2022 and if the England star was also to depart, this would leave a second major hole to plug.
Perhaps the only saving grace for the clubs after him is that Chelsea have dropped out of the running due to their imminent sale and the sanctions placed on Roman Abramovich, taking a big-spending competitor out of the bidding.
If either Man Utd or Liverpool are to overcome Madrid's interest in the player and be successful in signing Bellingham during the summer transfer window, it will take a monumental effort.
Real Madrid, however, are prepared to wait until 2023 to sign Bellingham, which may give them the advantage given the likelihood of Dortmund selling Haaland this summer and looking to keep hold of the Englishman for one more season.
