Paul Pogba will not be leaving Manchester United for rivals Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

Pogba becomes a free agent at the end of the season, as his six-year second stint at Old Trafford comes to a close.

This means he will able to negotiate a new deal with any club, earning a lucrative signing-on bonus given there will be no transfer fee from one club to another.

And, one of Europe's top clubs that has the opportunity to sign the Frenchman is Premier League leaders Manchester City.

However, as was the case four years ago, Pep Guardiola's side are not interested in Pogba, according to The Daily Star.

In 2018, the Spaniard revealed that then-United boss Jose Mourinho had offered him to chance to sign the midfielder - but declined.

And, signing Pogba then was a far more attractive proposition than it is today - at 29 years of age and with a number of injuries in recent times.

So it comes as no surprise that Guardiola, once again, will not be dealing with agent Mino Raiola on the subject of the 2018 World Cup winner.

Instead, contact between the two is likely to be over Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.

Where next for Pogba?

The favourites to sign Paul Pogba are Paris Saint-Germain, who could add the Frenchman to their star-studded squad.

The side's already-questionable work rate would take a further hit, but seeing Pogba line up alongside Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe could be too entertaining to pass up on.

Elsewhere, Xavi's new-look Barcelona could be the right destination for Pogab to restore his career.

Working under one of the all-time great midfielders, who have qualified for next season's Champions League, seems a perfect fit.

Another of Pogba's options is to return to Juventus, where he enjoyed his best club form to date, but La Bianconeri will struggles to compete financially.
