Manchester United will target the signings of Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and West Ham United’s Declan Rice and they prepare for next season with Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman is widely expected to take over at Old Trafford next season following a series of talks between manager and club.

This will signal a fresh start for Man Utd, who have endured a torrid season following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November and the interim appointment of Ralf Rangnick.

There was believed to be a two-way race between Ten Hag and Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino for the job, but the latter dropped further out of the race in recent months.

The Old Trafford side are expected to have a huge transfer window, with several departures and arrivals expected as they look to revamp their squad following an inconsistent season.

This comes from The Telegraph, who say the Red Devils have ambitious plans for next season, even if they miss out on Champions League football.

Along with the pair mentioned above, there are expected to be other players coming in, including a centre-half and possibly a new winger.

For this XI, this is what Ten Hag’s side could look like next season with the two Premier League players included.

In goal, David de Gea is expected to continue despite Ten Hag’s likely desire to have a goalkeeper with greater ball-playing abilities.

At the back, Diogo Dalot seems to have built up Ralf Rangnick’s trust, so that is likely to continue, while the other three of Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw shall remain the same.

Midfield will see the biggest changes as Rice comes in, with Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek taking up the remaining spots, as Paul Pogba looks set to leave.

Van de Beek has been a forgotten figure at Manchester United, but his positive history with Ten Hag at Ajax might give him an edge next season.

There will also be changes up top, as Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford are to be trusted on the wings.

Sancho has shown flashes of brilliance this season, and that can grow under Ten Hag, while there is a belief that a long-term plan can resurrect Rashford’s career following a difficult season.

Kane is set to complete the all-English front three, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure a possibility should United miss out on Champions League football.
