Man Utd told to leave Ten Hag to Ajax duty
Erik ten Hag has reportedly told Manchester United bosses to not contact him 48 hours before any Ajax game.
The current boss of Ajax will become Man Utd's new head coach, taking over from Ralf Rangnick who will take charge of Austria's national team.
However, despite taking the role and accepting the responsibility of rebuilding the Old Trafford club back into a team capable of winning the Premier League once again, Ten Hag has ordered the hierarchy at Man Utd not to bother him in the build-up to games.
Ajax are still competing with PSV for the Eredivisie title, and with four games left to play they sit four points clear.
So, with one last trophy up for grabs during his tenure at Ajax, after losing the Dutch Cup final to PSV last weekend, Ten Hag is fully focused on the job at hand. As such, he has informed Man Utd to not distract him with talk of next season.
This news comes from ESPN, who report that Ten Hag specifically asked for these measures before he accepted the job. The report also details how Man Utd's current playing squad have asked Daley Blind, a former Red Devils player, what Ten Hag is like as a coach and his style of training.
Blind has reportedly informed some of his old team-mates about how Ten Hag operates, including the fact he will always prioritise the team over individual player, something he's developed a reputation for at Ajax.
Ten Hag to Man Utd
Ten Hag has signed a three-year contract at Man Utd and will reportedly take the lead on a summer rebuild at the club. Paul Pogba is one of several players expected to leave this upcoming transfer window and Ten Hag is set to assess the entire squad to decide which players he opts to keep and which he chooses to sell.
Several of his Ajax stars have already been linked with a move to Old Trafford following the news of his appointment. Brazilian forward Antony and defender Noussair Mazraoui are two players who have been rumoured for a move to Man Utd, although it remains unrealistic they sign either.
Declan Rice, Kalvin Phillips and Aurelien Tchouameni are just three players reportedly on Man Utd's summer wishlist.
