Rangnick’s summer transfer hints for Ronaldo and Man Utd
Cristiano Ronaldo was hailed by Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick following the club’s 3-2 victory over Norwich as the German hinted at his future plans for the Portuguese great and the team as a whole.
Man Utd made hard work of overcoming the relegation-bound Canaries but ultimately won through to enhance their top-four hopes.
Much of that was owing to Ronaldo, who scored all three for the Red Devils in the Old Trafford clash.
His future has been in significant doubt in recent weeks, and while Rangnick said in one post-match interview that the striker’s future will be up to the next manager to decide, the interim boss said the former Real Madrid man is vital to the side.
“Like against Tottenham, he was crucial today. The second and the third goal were not easy goals, they were outstanding,” he told Sky Sports.
Rangnick hints at summer transfer targets
Meanwhile, Rangnick suggested the attributes that he will be looking for from the players that come into Old Trafford in the summer, when he is expected to have a huge influence on transfer policy.
It was the defence that he lamented in the encounter with Norwich as Man Utd threw away a two-goal advantage.
Cristiano Ronaldo is still inspiring #MUFC's stars of the future.

“The way we played defensively after being 2-0 up was not enough,” he said. “It’s a question of intensity and physicality. For the first goal, we had the ball at our feet on the sidelines, but if you’re not physical enough to protect the ball in those areas it can be dangerous. Within three seconds, they had a free header in our own box.”
If Ronaldo’s future is unclear for now, it is evident that Man Utd will be looking for some athletic reinforcements for their defensive areas come the summer transfer window.
