Ajax are set to undergo a summer of change, with several players to follow Erik ten Hag out the exit door from the Johan Cruyff Arena.

One such player is Nicolas Tagliafico, who has been used as a second-choice left-back this season, and has wanted to leave the club for a while.

Here are four clubs he could move to as his tenure in Amsterdam is close to an end.

Where could Tagliafico move to in the summer?

Manchester United

A move to Old Trafford would be mixed for Tagliafico – on one hand, he’ll have a chance to compete with Luke Shaw at a club that wants to rise.

On the other, he’ll be joining Ten Hag, who has preferred Daley Blind over him in the current season at Ajax, and no matter the past, the future under him doesn’t look to encouraging.

There’s an opportunity for game time here, but it would be much of the same for a player who has been angling for a change for some time.

Barcelona

This would arguably be the most sensible choice: Barcelona are a club that have improved drastically in the last few months, and Tagliafico would share minutes with Jordi Alba.

It was believed that the Argentine was close to a move to the Camp Nou in January, but that transfer was blocked, however, he may have a second chance now.

Barcelona have long been in the market for a left-back, and this deal may not even cost too much.

Tottenham

Tottenham could lose Sergio Reguilon in the summer, and need a new left-back regardless – Tagliafico could be their man.

Antonio Conte has always worked with flying wing-backs, and Tagliafico fits that mould perfectly, providing attacking output and tenacity.

Once again, this would be a cost-effective deal for a club that is keen on improving in that position.

Chelsea

Like Tottenham, Chelsea are also set to lose Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell will only just have returned from injury, so adding in another player would be sensible.

Although there are doubts over how they will act in the transfer market under their new owners, adding in a player like Tagliafico wouldn’t be a bad way to start.

Like Conte, Thomas Tuchel would enjoy having a player with energy like Tagliafico, and he would make a valuable addition to the squad.
