Why Man Utd have clear path towards Declan Rice signing
Manchester United have a clear path towards the signing of West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice this summer, but there will be one obstacle before that.
The Red Devils have long maintained an interest in Rice, believing that he can be the man to revitalize their midfield and would be willing to make a move for the summer.
A move could cost the club £100 million, but that’s not the big problem they will face, instead, it’s a case of the club’s pulling power.
What is stopping a Manchester United move for Declan Rice?
Manchester United are still a great club with a huge history, but it’s clear that they have struggled for several years, and that has been reflected by many of their big signings finding it difficult to make a mark in their time.
Players like Paul Pogba, Harry Maguire, Angel Di Maria and Romelu Lukaku all made big-money moves to Old Trafford but failed to replicate their form of old.
More recently, even Jadon Sancho has had an inconsistent season, showing glimpses of his quality, but failing to reach his best form.
That is something Rice will be vary of – he’s a player with a bright future and is likely to have a great career, so he will want assurances that he can carry that reputation forward in the coming years.

In recent times, Chelsea and Manchester City have been linked with the England international, and from the player’s perspective, moving there would make more sense.
Interested clubs may be put off by the asking price – only a handful can afford to pay West Ham’s high fee, and that may perhaps work in Rice’s favour, as he waits for something more appealing to come around.
Rice will have one of the bigger transfer sagas of the summer – there’s a talented player who’s ready to take his career to the next level, and where he goes will be interesting to see.
