Better Call Saul, his Chelsea career is over
Saul's time with Chelsea has come to an end and he will return to Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.
The Spanish midfielder put a brave face on things in a selection of tweets on social media, but ultimately the talented player's time in England did not work out whatsoever.
The 27-year-old only played 525 Premier League minutes in a dismal season which saw him substituted at half-time more often than not, and leading Chelsea fans to question what his role was in the first place.
Atletico Madrid fans will not recognise the version of Saul that arrived in England, a player appearing nervous and lacking the confidence to do what he had done so well in La Liga.
Hello blues,

The player admitted as much in a series of messages, saying: "Hello Blues,
I’m writing to take my leave of you. I would like to tell you how I felt during this adventure. Things didn’t start well at all. After a long time at home, changing everything wasn’t easy.
"Little by little things got better. Everything in life serves to improve and learn, and that’s what I take from this adventure. I’d like to thank the club for trying to take care of every detail to make me feel at home. I’d also like to give recognition to each worker, thank you.
"Thank you for making this club much bigger. Thanks to all the fans for supporting me through thick and thin. I will be forever grateful. Thanks to all the staff for making it possible for me to win titles with the blue shirt
"But above all, I wanted to thank my team-mates. They have been fundamental so that I wouldn’t fall apart. They helped me to continue supporting the team and live a calm and positive day today. Thank you!"
Saul's future remains unclear but he remains under contract with Atletico Madrid for another four years, so it is likely that he will integrated back into Diego Simeone's first-team next season.
