Could Gareth Bale reunite with Jose Mourinho at Roma?
Jose Mourinho's Roma could sign Gareth Bale once his contract at Real Madrid expires on 30 June.
Bale is not an in-demand player these days, as injuries, a lack of form and giant wages make him a rather unattractive prospect.
This is a complete contract to the world-beater that left Tottenham for Los Blancos for a world-record fee in 2013.
Now, his controversial, yet brilliant, time at Santiago Bernabeu is up, with some unlikely clubs being linked to his name, such as Madrid-based Getafe.
However, the latest of these teams is Serie A side Roma, according to Calcio Mercato.
The 2022 European Conference League winners are managed my former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho.
Indeed, the pair worked together at Spurs, where Bale had one of the most underrated seasons in Premier League history.
He scored 11 goals in just 20 Premier League appearances, of which only 10 were starts.
So, while Mourinho previously opted against making him a regular starter, the 'Special One' clearly knows how to get something out of the Welshman.
Bale's Real Madrid goodbye
On Twitter, Bale posted: "It's been an honour. Thank you! #HALAMADRID."
The attacker also posted a message beneath his comment.
"I write this message to say hank you to all my team-mates, past and present, my managers, the backroom staff and to the fans that have supported me.
"I arrived here 9 years ago as a young man who wanted to realise my dream of playing for Real Madrid. To wear the pristine white kit, to wear the creat on my chest, to play at the Santiago Bernabeu, to win titles and to be part of what it's so famous for, to win the Champions League.

"I can now look back, reflect and say with honesty that this dream became a reality and much, much more.
"To be part of this club's history and to achieve what we achieved while I was a Real Madrid player has been an incredible experience and one I will never forget.
