The Red Devils will want to get over a disappointing season quickly and will have to make reinforcements to strengthen in various areas of their squad if they are to avoid a repeat of the previous campaign.

They have been linked with several players such as Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, Ajax’s Jurrien Timber and Benfica’s Darwin Nunez, and it’s now being reported that they are interested in a Real Madrid star.

Manchester United have been offered Marco Asensio

According to stories in Spain, it’s being said that Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Marco Asensio from the recent Champions League winners to ease their issues on the wing.

Agent Jorge Mendes has offered the Spaniard to the Red Devils to help with United’s transfer window and he has proposed the idea to the club in recent days.

Asensio has just 12 months left on his contract at Real Madrid and could leave the club on a free next year if he is unable to agree on a new deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid will be keen to avoid that, so agreeing on a transfer with them may not be too difficult as they will be keen to sell and make some money from the player’s sale.

Asensio joined Real Madrid from Espanyol in 2015 for a €3 million fee but spent the 2015/16 campaign on loan at the Catalan club.

Since then, he has had some starring moments for Real Madrid, including goals in the 2016 UEFA Super Cup, 2017 Champions League final and 2017 Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona.

Despite injury issues, he has had a role to play in many trophy successes including the 2017 and 2018 Champions League as well as this season’s league and European double.
