Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane has dropped the strongest hint yet that he will leave the Anfield club amid rumours that he could leave for Bayern Munich.

Mane’s contract is up in June 2023 along with club-mate Mohamed Salah, but while the Egypt international star has indicated that he is “sure” to remain with Jurgen Klopp’s side, the Senegal ace has proven more elusive.

Prior to the Champions League final, when the 30-year-old was asked about his future, he was distinctly non-committal.

Now away on international duty, Mane has not confirmed anything but has certainly suggested that his future could lie away from Anfield.

At a press conference he said: “Isn’t it 60 or 70% of Senegalese people want me to leave Liverpool? I’ll do what they want. We’ll soon see.”

Mane to Bayern Munich?

Mane’s comments will only serve to fan the flames of rumours that suggest he could make a shock summer move to Bayern Munich.

FCB face the prospect of losing Robert Lewandowski or Serge Gnabry this summer, with both attacking players out of contract in 2023. Both have also made it clear that they do not see themselves at the Allianz Arena next season, opening the door for Mane to move to the Bundesliga champions.

Indeed, Liverpool’s asking price for the winger is only thought to be around the €40 million mark, which is roughly what Bayern want to sell Lewandowski to Barcelona for. Real Madrid, meanwhile, are the party most interested in Gnabry, and given Barca’s ongoing financial plight, this may prove to be the deal that is more viable.

PSG have also been interested in him, but with Kylian Mbappe having chosen to remain at the club, these rumours have dampened down.

Certainly, though, there is a feeling that moves are afoot and that Mane could very well soon be on his way from Liverpool to Bayern Munich.
