Richarlison becomes Tottenham’s most expensive transfer of all time
Richarlison will become Tottenham’s most expensive signing of all time when he completes his move from Everton.
The Brazilian forward will move to north London for a total fee of £60m (£50 million plus £10m in add-ons). This converts to €70m.
Richarlison has agreed a five-year contract with Tottenham.
In the process, the 25-year-old becomes the most expensive signing in Tottenham’s history.
The previous highest transfer fee for a player signed by Spurs was £54m for Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon in 2019.
WHO ARE TOTTENHAM'S BIGGEST SIGNINGS EVER?
Ndombele proved to be an almighty flop in north London, as he fell out with managers and was accused of poor professionalism.
Spurs will be hoping that their new biggest signing is far more successful than their previous record-holder.
Richarlison had been keen to leave Everton after four years at the club, during which he scored 53 goals in 152 games.
He signed for Everton from Watford in 2018 for an initial fee of £35m, rising to £50m.
He has been capped 36 times by Brazil and scored 14 goals. He is expected to go to the World Cup with the South Americans this year.
Richarlison becomes the latest signing in what is shaping up to be a very busy summer on the transfer market for Tottenham.
Antonio Conte was promised a huge transfer budget from chairman Daniel Levy and has wasted no time in strengthening his squad.
He has already signed Yves Bissouma from Brighton for £25m, Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster on free transfers, while Spurs are in negotiations for Barcelona’s Clement Llenglet.
Tottenham are also in the market for a right wing-back and possibly another attacking midfielder or winger.
