Arsenal wonderkid Omari Hutchison's shock Chelsea move divides fans
Chelsea have completed a move for Arsenal youngster Omari Hutchinson, with the 18-year-old making the move to the London rivals after talks broke down over a new deal.
Hutchinson was one of Arsenal’s highly-rated talents, and was expected to be given greater involvement in the first-team over the coming season, however, that is no longer going to happen.
The player can play in a variety of positions and his versatility will be a valuable addition to Chelsea, not only for their youth team, but perhaps even their senior side in the future.
There has been plenty of disappointment of the loss of Hutchinson from Arsenal fans, as they rue the chance to see one of their brightest talents possibly playing in their first team.
Hutchinson move divides opinion
In the past, Hutchinson has played on either wing and even in attacking midfield, as well as a few appearances as a full-back for Arsenal’s youth team, showing his quality.
The player started off at Chelsea’s academy when he was a child before moving to Charlton Athletic, however, he found his way to Arsenal, where he stayed for seven years.

Losing Omari Hutchinson is really bad news for Arsenal. Along with Flores, I would say he is the best talent in Hale End yet to make his debut for the first team. Just a strange move to go to Chelsea where he will play even less

He was involved with Arsenal’s first team several times, and was on the bench for the senior team on many occasions, including their FA Cup third round defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Hutchinson even played in the Gunners’ pre-season friendly against Ipswich Town earlier this month, but didn’t take part in their tour of Germany, as a move to Chelsea was close to completion.
Hutchinson is also a Jamaica international and he made his debut for the senior national team in a friendly against Catalonia, having previously represented England at under-17 and under-19 levels.
Along with their first-team, Chelsea have made it a priority to continue improving their youth side under new owner Todd Boehly, and the signing of Hutchinson is a good start.
