Ronaldo’s transfer situation: What is the latest?

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is no closer to being settled as Ronaldo shows no intention of returning to pre-season training and his agent Jorge Mendes struggles to find him a new club.
Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United is very much in doubt after it was reported a few weeks ago that he wished to find a new club for next season.
Cristiano is worried about Man Utd’s ability to challenge for trophies next season and is unhappy about the prospect of not playing in the Champions League.
Mendes has been offering his services to multiple clubs over the past weeks.
So far, it has been reported that the following clubs have been approached; Chelsea, Bayern Munich, PSG, Roma, Napoli and Sporting Lisbon.
Ronaldo labelled the Sporting stories as “fake” on Instagram last week and this has been confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, who has given his own update on the 37-year-old situation.
What Romano says about Ronaldo
“There is nothing going on with Sporting – this story was a fake news,” Romano wrote in his exclusive column with Caught Offside.
“The situation has remained essentially the same for the last 20 days: Cristiano wants to leave, Erik ten Hag waits to have a conversation with him to try to change his mind.
“Manchester United are waiting for answers from Cristiano to understand when he can return to training, but Jorge Mendes keeps working on solutions: Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Chelsea have been approached but there are no evolutions yet.”
Ronaldo has failed to turn up to pre-season training or the club’s tour of the Far East and Australia, citing “family reasons”.
There has been no sign yet when this absence will end.
Cristiano returned to Man Utd last summer after 12 years away in a much-publicised transfer from Juventus.

The superstar was aiming to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford and challenge for major trophies.
However, despite impressing individually with 24 goals in 38 games, Man Utd endured the worst season in the club’s Premier League history.
Ronaldo would thus like to leave the club this summer to join a team who can be more competitive after one of the rare years in his career in which he finished trophyless.
But with just over five weeks to go until the transfer window closes and few signs of any concrete interest, Ronaldo is running out of time to find a new team.
