Manchester United could be drawn into deadline day dealings this summer, with their transfer activity set to still be in motion by the time the window approaches its end.

The Red Devils have already added Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen to their squad as Erik ten Hag oversees major changes to the squad following his appointment as head coach.

The Dutchman has unsurprisingly delved into the Eredivisie market to pick up Martinez and Malacia, while Eriksen is a player he knows after the Dane trained with Ajax last year. On the pitch, Ten Hag has started his reign in impressive fashion, with pre-season results and performances both encouraging.

However, their business in the transfer market is far from over.

Frenkie de Jong's proposed move from Barcelona and Cristiano Ronaldo's desire to leave are two issues that need to be resolved soon, while their business could stretch into the final hours of the window.

Late business for Man Utd

According to ESPN's Rob Dawson, who has reported that a lot of Man Utd's outgoings including loans, could be decided nearer to deadline day as lots of players want to see how involved they are going to be in the first few games.

Players who find themselves on the fringes in the opening Premier League fixtures therefore may push for an exit before the window shuts, especially given the presence of a winter World Cup looming large.

Therefore, Ten Hag's opening player selections could have big ramifications on Man Utd's activity and could also determine which players leave the club this summer and which decide to stay.

In terms of incomings, De Jong is still being pursued, while Benjamin Pavard is reportedly on Man Utd's shortlist according to L'Equipe.

Fred, Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial could be sold in 2023 if there don't work under Ten Hag this season, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been linked with an exit as well.
