The most expensive FPL midfielders for 2022-23
Mohamed Salah is once again the most expensive midfielder in Fantasy Premier League, holding his status as the highest priced player in the entire game.
The Egyptian international’s 265 points last season ensured he topped the standings for the first time since 2018/19. He bagged 10 double digit hauls throughout the season and was tied with Heung-Min Son for the Premier League Golden Boot. As a result, he is priced at £13 million.
Son ranked second for overall points last year and has been rewarded with a price increase that has seen him valued at £12m, which is joint-second in the entire game with Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne.
De Bruyne scored 15 goals last season, while Salah and Son both scored 23. The Belgian managed the most bonus points of any midfielder last year with 32, while Salah was second with 29 and Son was third with 27.

Raheem Sterling and Bruno Fernandes are both priced at £10m and are joint-fourth for midfielders in the price list. The latter will play under new manager Erik ten Hag hoping to rediscover his form during the 2020/21 season, during which he was an FPL favourite.
Jarrod Bowen’s stellar year last time out has seen him boosted to a price of £8.5m, which ranks sixth of all midfielders. The West Ham star scored the fourth most points in the entire game last season, as he was one of only five players to notch over 200 points. He also managed the most assists of any midfielder, with 17 in FPL. He only managed 10 in real life, but how an assist is judged is slightly more lenient than in real life.
The England international is £0.5m more expensive than a cluster of players that may well be popular in the game. Bukayo Saka, Mason Mount, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Luis Diaz, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison are all priced at £8m.
Saka, Maddison and Mount all topped the point-scoring system for Arsenal, Leicester and Chelsea respectively. As for Sweden international Kulusevski, he scored 99 points despite only joining Tottenham in January.
