Why Man Utd could speed up Arsenal's Tielemans transfer chase

Arsenal have long maintained an interest in Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans, and they could be forced to wrap things up quickly, thanks to interest from Manchester United.
The Gunners are looking to bolster their midfield having already signed Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira from Manchester City and FC Porto respectively this summer.
Tielemans has been one of the club’s top targets, but Arsenal have yet to make a firm offer for the Belgian having kept their focus on other targets.

Now, though, they may be forced to speed up the process as interest from the Red Devils may see them lose out, should Erik ten Hag’s side act quicker.
Arsenal have also been keeping tabs on Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, but it seems more likely that they will move for Tielemans, as they may be priced out a move for the Serb.
Manchester United also interested in Tielemans
Along with Arsenal, Manchester United have been interested in the player for a long time as well, but are putting their efforts into the signing of Frenkie de Jong, who is Ten Hag’s preferred midfield option.
It was reported that United were interested in bringing Tielemans over to Manchester United as early as January, but a move for him was not possible as the player himself rejected the chance.

Additionally, Tielemans may now make the transfer to Old Trafford if he notices that Arsenal are taking too long to complete the deal, which would be a welcome boost for United, and an invitation for the Gunners to hurry.
It’s believed that the 25-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal, so that shouldn’t be a drawn-out issue, it’s just a case of the two clubs agreeing a deal.
Additionally, it’s believed that United are more serious about the move than before, but only if they don’t land their preferred target in De Jong from Barcelona.
Leicester are believed to want at least £30 million for their star midfielder, although that could rise the longer this saga goes on.
