Adrien Rabiot's insane Man Utd demands revealed
Manchester United were interested in a deal for French midfielder Adrien Rabiot from Juventus, but the transfer broke down earlier this week.
The English club were in negotiations with Juventus and things were going positively, with a move expected to be done in the next week, but that will no longer happen.
John Murtough – Manchester United’s transfer chief – even travelled to Turin to hold talks with Rabiot’s agent and mother, Veronique, who has advised her son’s career for several years.
However, Rabiot is set to play the next season at Juventus and play out the final year of his contract, before being allowed to negotiate an exit on a free transfer from January onwards.
Man Utd unwilling to meet Rabiot demands
It’s believed that the player’s wage demands were too high, and that forced United to back out of the deal entirely, choosing to focus on other targets instead.
There was a belief that negotiations could reignite close to the end of the window, but according to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy, the deal is definitely over.
Veronique Rabiot reportedly asked for her son to be given a three-year contract, with an annual salary of €10 million, which would’ve made him one of the top earners at Manchester United.
In addition to that, she also wanted an agent fee of €10 million, which was against what United were willing to pay, hence, backing out of the deal.

Tuttosport, meanwhile, report other figures, saying Veronique wanted a package worth around €40 million over four years, while United were only willing to provide a package worth around €28 million.
Manchester United were only prepared to pay the player €8 million-per-season, and a small fee to Veronique, in addition to the transfer fee which would’ve gone to Juventus – believed to be around €15 million.
Rabiot must now remain at Juventus, where coach Massimiliano Allegri has reportedly been willing to include him in his plans ahead of the expiry of his contract at the end of the season.
