Arsenal are in the market for a winger and the Gunners are reportedly pushing to acquire the 21-year-old from Shakhtar Donetsk before Thursday's transfer deadline.

Mudryk had two goals and seven assists from just 11 Ukrainian Premier League games before the competition was disrupted by the Russian invasion.

And the young wide-man - who has been nicknamed "the Ukrainian Neymar" by fans - has now liked a post on Instagram claiming that Arsenal are interested in signing him.

Shakhtar want €29m for Mudryk, who has five caps for his country and has also featured in six Champions League games to date.

While Gabriel Martinelli in particular has starred for Arsenal so far this season, helping them to the top of the Premier League, Mikel Arteta would still like to add more wingers.

Bukayo Saka is the subject of persistent interest from Manchester City, while Nicolas Pepe has been allowed to leave on loan to Nice after a disappointing spell in North London.

Neto alternative needed

Wolverhampton Wanderers wide man Pedro Neto is understood to be Arsenal's first-choice in the position, but the £50m/€58m fee demanded for the Portuguese might prove too steep with the Gunners trying to stay within financial fair play regulations.

Mudryk would be relatively budget friendly, and the hope is that he would settle in quickly at the Emirates with international teammate and friend Oleksandr Zinchenko having already joined from Manchester City in a £32m/€37m deal in July.

Crystal Palace's Wilffried Zaha is another option. The former Manchester United man has scored four goals in four Premier League games so far this season, and grew up supporting the Gunners.

Arsenal's interest in Mudryk has caught the player's eye on social media. The youngster like and Instagram post from the 'transfers' account which was 2.7m followers.
