Pedro Neto to Arsenal: What the transfer hinges on

Arsenal could land another major transfer this summer in the form of Wolves winger Pedro Neto, but the deal is far from certain from being completed.
The Gunners have spent big this summer to secure the services of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieira but after Friday’s victory over Crystal Palace in their opening Premier League match of the season, manager Mikel Arteta admitted that he wanted more.

Now 22-year-old Pedro Neto is linked with the Emirates club. The three-time capped Portugal international fits the profile of player that Arsenal have typically tried to sign in recent years in that he is young, promising and has a good deal of Premier League experience, having featured 73 times in the division for Wolves, scoring nine goals.
Neto, who was targeted by Arsenal all the way back in 2017, saw a serious knee injury restrict him to a handful of minutes during the 2021/22 season, but he produced a thrilling performance at the weekend against Leeds to remind observers of his potential.
Wolves’ move for Guedes could lead to Neto exit
The success of the Gunners’ move, though, hinges on Wolves’ success in landing attacker Goncalo Guedes from Valencia. Tribuna Deportivo reports that the Molineux club have launched a bid worth in the region of €31 million for the former PSG player – something that was effectively confirmed by head coach Gennaro Gattuso after a weekend friendly win over Atalanta.
“The club told me they’ve received a huge proposal for Guedes from a Premier League club,” the Italian said after a match in which the 25-year-old was absent.
Guedes is also managed by agent Jorge Mendes, who has strong links with Wolves and has sent a great many of his players to the club in recent seasons.
This represents good news for Arsenal, as it opens the door to a deal for Neto to be completed.
