Casemiro is in line for a handsome pay rise once he completes his transfer to Manchester United.

The Real Madrid midfielder is on the verge of a switch to Old Trafford after almost a decade leading the way for the La Liga giants.

It is a rare moment of triumph for the Red Devils in the market after a difficult summer full of rejection and failed transfer approaches.

While he may not arrive in time for Monday's Liverpool clash, Casemiro is set to be unveiled as a United player in the coming days and join Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez in moving to the club over the course of the window.

United, however, will have to pay dearly for the privilege of bringing in a five-time Champions League winner.

How much will Casemiro earn at United?

As well as the £60 million fee they are prepared to pay Madrid for Casemiro's services, the Red Devils are also offering a lucrative salary package.

According to the Sun the Brazil international will sign a contract worth a massive £350,000 a week, to run over the next four years.

That will double his current wages at Madrid while also placing him alongside United's highest-earning players.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea will take home more than the midfielder, £480,000 a week and £375,000 a week respectively.

United have taken their time to land on Casemiro after a string of highly publicised transfer failures this summer.

Their courtship of Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong fell short due to the player's insistence that he would not move to Old Trafford, while Adrien Rabiot's proposed move also collapsed.

The club will thus be relieved to finally get a transfer over the line, even if it sets them back a hefty sum.
