Chelsea could spend over £150m on triple transfer swoop
Chelsea are looking for a busy end to the transfer window as they eye a massive triple transfer swoop, with a big outlay planned in the final weeks of the summer.
The Blues have already signed players like Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella, Gabriel Slonina and Carney Chukwuemeka as they look to bolster Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
However, they are not done with their business as they’re eyeing players like Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona as well as Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana.
The total spending in the final weeks of the window could exceed £150 million, having already spent £167 million on five players this summer.
Chelsea planning big end to transfer window
The Blues have been targeting Fofana for much of the summer, and have already seen two of their bids rejected by Leicester City, with the Foxes holding out for a big fee.
The bids were rumoured to be around £70 million, but Chelsea may have to fork out around £80 million to get their man – possibly even breaking the world-record fee for a defender.
De Jong has come up as a bigger possibility in recent weeks – the Dutchman was Manchester United’s priority target, but a move to Old Trafford hasn’t yet materialized due to complications involved.
Frenkie de Jong now being abused by Barcelona fans upon entering the club's training facilities, for the crime of wanting his employment contract honoured. Those orchestrated links against him are having the desired impact. Modern football is in the gutter. https://t.co/ZfzfGJFIIr

The midfielder is eager to get the wages he is owed by the Blaugrana, which has held up a move, and that has invited Chelsea to explore their options ahead of making a transfer approach.
Aubameyang has emerged as a new target as well, with Barcelona keen to sell some of their players to trim their squad and make up money to boost their financial situation.
Tuchel is a fan of the player, having previously worked with him at Borussia Dortmund and seen him succeed in the Premier League with Arsenal, and the German manager thinks he can help Aubameyang in England once again.
Chelsea have ambitious plans under new owner Todd Boehly, and have started the window in a way that reflects it, with a perfect ending planned as well.
