Ronaldo to Chelsea is BACK ON?
Cristiano Ronaldo was linked with a move to Chelsea earlier in the transfer window but those reports were denied, however, a shock move could still happen in the final days of the window.
Early in the transfer window, Ronaldo stated his wish to leave Manchester United so that he can spend the final years of his career challenging for trophies and playing in Europe’s top club competition.
He has been turned down by several clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Sporting and Bayern Munich, citing age, financial reasons or his tactical fit in those respective teams.
However, while links to Chelsea were turned down, there could be a move to Stamford Bridge back on the cards in the final days of the transfer window.
Jorge Mendes still discussing with Chelsea
According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Jorge Mendes has re-entered talks with Chelsea to discuss the possibility of Ronaldo’s move to Chelsea in the final days of the transfer window.
Mendes had opened talks over the possible transfer back in July, when he discussed it with Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly after a meeting in Portugal, but a move was turned down at the time.
Thomas Tuchel, the Chelsea boss, believed that he wouldn’t be the right fit in his plans, and as a result, a move didn’t materialize and Ronaldo has remained at Manchester United.

Chelsea are still looking for a new forward, having sold Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku this summer, and are short-staffed in that position up top.
They have signed Raheem Sterling from Manchester City, and are still in discussions with Barcelona for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, hoping to get a deal done before deadline day.
Tuchel does prefer a move for Aubameyang, having shared a good relationship with him at Borussia Dortmund, where the pair worked together between 2015 and 2017.
Mendes, though, is still trying to find a deal for Ronaldo, his top client, with Chelsea being one of the possible candidates along with Serie A side Napoli.
