Revealed: Chelsea's giant contract offer to tempt Fofana to leave Leicester
Wesley Fofana has been linked with a move to Chelsea as the Blues look to bolster their defence with the addition of the Leicester City defender.
Chelsea have long been in the market for a defender, and previously targeted Jules Kounde, who ended up moving to Barcelona last month.
They’re also in talks with Brighton over the signing of Marc Cucurella, as they look to add a left-footed defender to their back-line in the summer.
Fofana is still of high interest to them regardless, and they’re preparing a package that will be hard to ignore for the player in order to tempt him away from the King Power Stadium.
Chelsea offer Fofana huge pay rise
The Frenchman has been impressive for Leicester since moving there back in 2020, and even despite a long-term injury forcing him to miss much of last season.
According to sources, Chelsea have prepared a wage package of £200,000-per-week, which would be a massive rise on his current contract at Leicester.
The deal would be hard to turn down seeing as he earns about four times less of that at Leicester – around £51,000-per-week, and would certainly tempt him away.

Fofana is one of the game’s emerging defenders, and has also attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, but Leicester City’s high asking price is putting teams off.
The Foxes want about £65 million for the 21-year-old, and Chelsea are reportedly keen on the deal and may include a few players to go the other way.
This is a saga that could carry on into the final weeks of the window, and Fofana is reportedly eager to move as well, as he wants to break into the France squad ahead of the World Cup.
It’s believed that a move to Stamford Bridge would give him that opportunity, and working under a coach like Thomas Tuchel – who has constantly improved defenders – would benefit him.
