Revealed: The four Chelsea players wanted by Newcastle
Newcastle are set to ramp up their player acquisition towards the end of the transfer window, and Chelsea could be a valuable source of players for the world's richest club.
Newcastle went big in the transfer market last winter, spending £91m/€108m on players like Bruno Guimaraes and Kieren Trippier in a bid to stave off relegation - something they did in the end, finishing 14 points clear of the drop zone.
This summer has been slower, even if the Toon have bolstered their squad with the €37m acquisition of centre-back Sven Botman from Lille and the £10m/€12m signing of Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.

But that was always part of the plan, according to the Telegraph.
"Chelsea have made a formal bid for Everton forward Anthony Gordon this week - a player Newcastle expressed a short interest in last month - and there is a widespread belief within football circles that several players at Stamford Bridge will be offloaded in the last few days of the window," they write.
'Chelsea the main source of interest'
"That is one of the reasons why Newcastle have been keeping their powder dry as they look to add desperately needed attacking reinforcements. [Eddie] Howe has always maintained they would look to make loan signings late in the window and it seems Chelsea are the main source of their interest."
The four players Newcastle are most optimistic of signing are Conor Gallagher, Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Broja.
Gallagher had a glittering spell on loan at Crystal Palace last season, scoring eight goals and forcing himself into the England squad.
The other three have been touted as potentially permanent sales as Chelsea look to balance their books having spent £168m/€200m on the likes of Marc Cucurella and Raheem Sterling this summer.
Broja also spent time on loan last season at Southampton, but his future in the Chelsea attack looks bleak with the club moving for Barcelona's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
