Hakim Ziyech could be set for a dramatic late move from Chelsea to London rivals Tottenham after the two clubs opened negotiations over a deal.

Ziyech is looking to leave Stamford Bridge before the transfer deadline after finding regular first team football hard to come by and the Morrocan has been linked with moves to Ajax, Milan and Manchester United throughout the summer.

However, Spurs have become the latest club to register an interest in the 29-year-old, with Chelsea thought to be demanding around £25 million for the winger.

The two clubs have not conducted business with each other since 2009 due to a strained relationship between the sides, however that appears to have cooled since the arrival of new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.

However, a deal between Spurs and Chelsea is not thought to be advanced and Antonio Conte's side are still considering alternatives, with Leeds' Daniel James and Atletico's Yannick Carrasco being monitored.

Will Ziyech leave Chelsea?

Ziyech made his first start of the season in Chelsea's 2-1 loss to Southampton but the former Ajax winger failed to stamp his mark on the game and could still be moved on.

Chelsea have already let forwards Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi depart this summer, while Christian Pulisic has been told he will stay at the club despite his desire to leave.

Ziyech will likely only be allowed to move if Chelsea secure one of their striking targets, with Barcelona's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the likely incoming.

He was believed to be close to a move to Ajax as a replacement for Antony, who joined Man Utd, however a deal could not be struck, leaving Ziyech without an imminent destination.

A move to Tottenham is said to interest Ziyech, meaning personal terms shouldn't be an issue, but the player could also remain at Chelsea should a fee not be agreed.

Ziyech has encountered a difficult time since joining Chelsea from Ajax for £33m in 2020, making just 29 league starts since then, scoring six times.
