Revealed: Two Chelsea stars told they won't be sold

Chelsea are set to have a frantic end to the transfer window, and could have a few departures planned, but may block two exits many widely expected.
New owner Todd Boehly has been a busy man this summer, showing his ambition with his new club as they’ve become Europe’s biggest spenders over the window.
There could be several loan exits in the form of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Armando Broja, Conor Gallagher and Ethan Ampadu, but some are expected to stay.
Two players, Trevoh Chalobah and Kepa Arrizabalaga are set to remain at Stamford Bridge, despite in them from other European clubs over the summer.

Chalobah was given several chances in the Chelsea back-line last season, but has only played once so far in this campaign, when the Blues beat Leicester over the weekend.
He has had interest from Serie A this summer, including sides like Roma, Milan and Inter, while Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig have also been keeping tabs on his situation over the summer.
Additionally, Antonio Conte was interested in bringing him over from Tottenham, but no such move has materialized and he may stay on at Stamford Bridge this season.
Chelsea are close to completing a deal for Wesley Fofana from Leicester in the coming days, and that may restrict Chalobah’s opportunities over the course of the season, which is a cause for concern.

For Arrizabalaga, meanwhile, the situation is slightly more complicated as he’s clearly the second-choice goalkeeper behind Edouard Mendy.
Arrizabalaga has hardly played in league and Champions League games since the arrival of Mendy in 2020, and he was rumoured to be interested in leaving this season.
Napoli were one club interested in taking him on this year, but that move never happened and they look set to sign Keylor Navas from Paris Saint-Germain instead.
Chelseea want him to stay, now, and see him as a valuable back-up option to Mendy, hoping to use him slightly more frequently over the course of the campaign.
How this decision will affect both remains to be seen, as the promise of game time isn’t there and they may feel they are better off with transfers elsewhere.
