All signs point to Chelsea landing two huge signings this week
Chelsea are closing in on two major signings in the days ahead, with everything pointing to Thomas Tuchel’s side closing out deals for Wesley Fofana and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
FootballTransfers reported that the Blues have been “obsessed” with Leicester centre-back Fofana lately and the signs are that they will get a deal done with the young Frenchman imminently.
It is our understanding that there has been an ongoing discussion between the two clubs in recent days, with Leicester becoming increasingly open to the potential of selling the former Saint-Etienne player.
These rumours stepped up on Saturday, when Fofana went to clap the Leicester support on his own following a 4-2 defeat away from home against Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers later told the media: “You write he’s saying farewell. That’s your story. I think he was giving the fans a clap. I didn’t see it as a farewell. But you need to write what you need to write.”
I’ll leave others to speculate on what this might mean but - whilst all the other players are chatting, swapping shirts and embracing - Wesley Fofana has gone over to the Leicester fans on his own. pic.twitter.com/DZOMgekGkn

Chelsea stepping up Aubameyang chase
Chelsea are also looking increasingly good to land Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who was given a mere eight minutes of action as the Catalan side were held 0-0 by Rayo Vallecano at Camp Nou in their opening La Liga match of the season.
Indeed, his entry was an act of desperation as Barca chased a winning goal and it was Jordi Alba he replaced.
Gerard Romero, who is close to Barcelona, states that the player is already in talks with Chelsea and that the Spanish side are expecting a bid of around €25-28 million for the former Arsenal player.
Given that Barca are still seeking to fund moves for Marcos Alonso and Bernardo Silva, they would likely welcome a fee of that size for Aubameyang.
