Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris is currently the most expensive goalkeeper for the 2022-23 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season, following Tottenham's impressive start to the season.

At the start of the game, Lloris was tied with Liverpool's Alisson and Manchester City's Ederson for the title of the most expensive goalkeeper, but they've since lost value, as Liverpool's start to the season may put users off choosing Alisson.

The trio were all priced at £5.5 million in the latest version of the game, which wasn't surprising as they finished as the top three point-scoring goalkeepers last season.

Alisson scored 176 points last season, while Lloris just pipped Ederson with 158 points to the Brazilian’s 155. They were the standout premium options for the goalkeeper position last campaign and were deemed the best options for the latest version of the fantasy game.

Clean sheets are the most valuable way a goalkeeper can score points in FPL, and the aforementioned three players feature for the teams with the best defences in the league.

Alisson and Ederson both managed 20 clean sheets last season, while Lloris had 16 clean sheets. Alisson also picked up 15 bonus points in FPL last year, which was the most bonus points any goalkeepers could manage in the game.

With Tottenham looking strong in defence and Man City as imperious as ever, getting Lloris or Ederson in your side looks to be a good idea.

Liverpool may have suffered a drop off this season, but Alisson remains a good pick, although Newcastle's Nick Pope has emerged as a better option and for a cheaper price.

However, Chelsea’s Kepa offers an even more budget-friendly option at £4.5m, with the Blues adding Kalidou Koulibaly, Marc Cucurella and Graham Potter, who has favoured the Spaniard over Edouard Mendy. Kepa is playing for one of the traditional 'big-six' but is priced like a mid-table 'keeper. Therefore, buy, buy, buy.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Robert Sanchez is the budget option that holds the most value. Of all the goalkeepers who started this year priced at £4.5m in the game, Sanchez scored the most points last season and Brighton are expected to maintain their impressive defence.
