Liverpool consider swapping Firmino or Keita for Inter's Brozovic
Liverpool are considering the idea of using either Roberto Firmino or Naby Keita in a swap deal move for Inter Milan's Croatian star Marcelo Brozovic.
Brozovic, 29, joined Inter back in 2016 and has been linked with a move to the Premier League on several occasions without a transfer ever transpiring.
However, Jurgen Klopp's side are the latest to be interested in a move for the midfielder, and are reportedly ready to offer two of their current stars in order to make a deal happen.
According to Calciomercato, Liverpool are eyeing up the idea of using either Firmino or Keita as a makeweight in a deal for Brozovic after Thiago Alcantara picked up an injury against Fulham.
James Milner and Harvey Elliott were both turned to off the bench, and Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Brozovic to solve their midfield crisis, but Inter don't want to sell him.
Furthermore, Brozovic signed a new contract to stay with the club earlier this year and his new deal now runs until 2026.
What has Klopp said?
After the draw with Fulham, Klopp said: "We said we don't need a midfielder because we have enough – and we actually have enough, but the problem now is we get punished for something that is not our responsibility really because things like this can happen.
"Nobody could image that Curtis [Jones] gets the thing he gets; it is nothing serious but he is a young boy and it is a kind of stress reaction. Bodies are like this. Naby [Keita] is only ill and he will now be back definitely next week again.
"Oxlade [Chamberlain] happened early and now with Thiago that is, of course, not good and we will see.
He added: "Look, a transfer must make sense now and in the long-term; we have midfielders, we have still enough midfielders. It is not that we lack midfielders, but it's just some of them are injured.
"This is not a good situation, I don't like it at all, but we have to see how we react on that – but for sure not panicking."
