Bernardo Silva shoots down Barcelona Deadline Day rumours

Bernardo Silva has shot down rumours that he could complete a Deadline Day transfer to Barcelona.
The Portugal international midfielder has been linked with a move to the Catalans throughout much of the summer transfer window and these rumours resurfaced 24 hours before the end of the market via Blaugrana transfer expert Gerard Romero.
Speaking on his Twitch channel, Romero claimed that the deal was on and that City were already looking towards replacements for Silva.
Barcelona had previously been unable to match City's €80 million asking price but the potential termination of Martin Braithwaite's contract plus a possible loan deal taking Jordi Alba to Inter was cited as a reason why a new move could take place.
Silva had just starred for City in a 6-0 win over Nottingham Forest while the news broke, creating a goal in that game.
Previously, City boss Pep Guardiola had explicitly told reporters that Silva wouldn't leave, calling him 'irreplaceable'.

Bernardo Silva was quick to shoot down the prospect of a late deal when he spoke to Catalan radio after the Forest victory.
He told RAC1: "I’m going to stay at Manchester City. I haven't received any offers.
"I'm staying in Manchester, here I'm happy and the decision has been made."
This comment effectively ends the prospect of a transfer... for now.
Barcelona had been 'obssessed' with signing Silva and the player has privately described them as his dream club, having requested a move to the Catalan side in the last two summers.
Meanwhile, City's transfer policy is to let players go if they wish to leave and their asking price is met, although Silva was reportedly happy to stay at the club if a deal could not be struck.
Paris Saint-Germain have also retained an interest in Silva but, like Barcelona, they have not matched the Premier League champion's asking price.
Bernardo Silva will not leave Man City this summer, but this is a transfer saga set to run until January and perhaps even beyond.
