Manchester United are entering the final weeks of the window in need of reinforcements to their squad, and aren’t planning further talks with Adrien Rabiot.

The Red Devils are in need of new players after losing 4-0 to Brentford over the weekend, and have been in talks with the Juventus midfielder over the last week.

Last week, John Murtough travelled to Turin to discuss terms with Juventus and Rabiot’s agent and mother, Veronique, and there is confidence a deal can be reached.

It was reported Murtough and Rabiot had a positive meeting and that no further talks are needed for the deal to be completed in the coming days.

Man Utd hold positive talks

United are hopeful Rabiot will join the club in time for their clash against Liverpool in a week’s time, with the 27-year-old not involved heavily involved with Juventus.

The Red Devils have spent much of the summer negotiating the purchase of Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, but a move hasn’t materialized for the Dutchman.

De Jong was Erik ten Hag’s primary target, and the club have been in negotiations with Barcelona since the middle of May, with a fee agreed between the two clubs in the middle of July.

However, De Jong is waiting to receive his deferred wages from the Catalan club, which is holding up the deal, and United have decided to pursue Rabiot while waiting for De Jong’s situation to change.

Other midfielders have also been targeted for the club, such as Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, but no firm offer has been made for the Serbian star yet.

United are also looking to improve in other areas such as right-back, forward and possibly even in goal, as Ten Hag looks to bounce back from a poor start in the Premier League.

Things will get frantic as the club approach the final days of the transfer window, and with Liverpool being their next opponents, it could get even more troublesome.
