How Man Utd will line up with Casemiro
Manchester United have officially completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro from Real Madrid, finally addressing their issue in defensive midfield.
The Red Devils have been looking to improve in the middle of the park all summer, having targeted Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong for much of the window.
Now, having started the season with two defeats in their opening two matches, they are in desperate need to turn their fortunes around as quickly as possible.
The Real Madrid midfielder had become a top target, and will significantly improve the team, but how will United line up now the Brazilian is on the move to Old Trafford?
How will Man Utd line up with Casemiro?
In goal, David de Gea will continue, despite his poor start to the season, as United have no competitors, with the best alternative – Dean Henderson – out on loan at Nottingham Forest. However, they may add a reinforcement before the window suts.
In defence, Diogo Dalot and Tyrell Malacia will start at full-back; Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s style doesn’t exactly suit Erik ten Hag’s team, while Malacia will start ahead of the struggling Luke Shaw.
In the centre, the pairing of Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire is likely, with Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane there to back up. The former Real Madrid star Varane may well become a full-time option instead of Maguire, however.
Midfield will see the biggest changes, as Casemiro will slot into the defensive midfield role, filling up a gap that’s been there in the United team for several years.

He’ll be playing alongside his Brazilian counterpart, Fred, who should retain his place despite the team’s bad start, as he impressed at the end of last season.
Along with them is Bruno Fernandes, who has been out of form for a while, but can still contribute to the team on occasion and drive them forward.
The attack needs to start firing again and on the wings will be the duo of Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, who need a quick turnaround of fortunes.
And leading the line will be last season’s top scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo, who for much of the summer, has said he wishes to leave the club.
A lot could change between now and the end of the transfer window, with the club linked to new players everyday and looking to turn their season around.
