Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has spoken out on the end of the summer transfer window, revealing that the club’s incoming business is about to come to an end.

The Red Devils have had a frustrating summer in the market, missing out on leading targets such as Frenkie de Jong and forced to rush to push through deals for Casemiro and Antony.

Meanwhile, it seems that a succession of signings that they wanted to complete have been missed, such as a right-back and a striker.

Ten Hag did indicate that there is likely to be one final piece of business for Man Utd to do in a window complicated by an 8pm kick-off on Transfer Deadline Day against Leicester.

It is not a spectacular signing by any means, but it is a necessary one: Martin Dubravka from Newcastle. He arrives following the loan departure of Dean Henderson to Nottingham Forest.

“I think that for this window, that will be the end,” Ten Hag confirmed to the media during a press conference on Wednesday.

He did, however, drop a caveat.

“When there is a great opportunity, you always have to be alert at this top club,” he stated.

Wan-Bissaka’s Barcelona hopes ended

Meanwhile, the Man Utd boss also confirmed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka will remain at the club, ending the hopes of Barcelona of signing the right-back, who had been rumoured to be part of a potential swap deal involving Sergino Dest.

“Of course, Aaron wan Bissaka will stay in. So with this squad, we will go from September to at least January, but we will play with this squad this season,” he indicated.

Manchester United will, therefore, conclude the transfer window with six new signings: Dubravka, Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Antony.
