Tuchel confirms Alonso exit & Ronaldo pushes for start - FootballTransfers recap
The new Premier League season is finally upon us, and there was no shortage of action over the first two days - both on and off the field.
Liverpool came close to a shock defeat at the hands of Fulham and Chelsea were made to work for their victory away to Everton, while Tottenham laid down an early marker of their intentions as they put Southampton to the sword in a 4-1 thrashing.
As could be expected a host of new summer signings were also in action, from Darwin Nunez - author of a goal and assist to salvage Liverpool's opener - to Chelsea trio Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella.
Over at Manchester United, meanwhile, the big story continues to be whether Ronaldo will stay put: the striker is apparently pushing for inclusion on the opening day while other Red Devils favourites believe it is time for him to go.
FootballTransfers takes a recap of the biggest stories from today’s transfer business.
