Manchester United new boy Antony enjoyed the dream start to life at Old Trafford as he scored on his debut on Sunday afternoon against Arsenal.

The Brazilian joined Man Utd from Ajax in a €100 million deal earlier this week, becoming the club’s second most expensive signing of all time after Paul Pogba.

Despite just a couple of days at the club, manager Erik ten Hag immediately threw Antony into the starting XI for the visit of Arsenal on Sunday.

And the winger did not disappoint as he broke the deadlock on 35 minutes.

He was slipped through by Marcus Rashford and finished brilliantly by sliding the ball past goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in the Arsenal net.

Antony then went and celebrated in front of the visiting Arsenal fans.

He was substituted on 57 minutes to a standing ovation with Man Utd leading 1-0.

The wideman’s goal led to a rapturous applause from Man Utd fans on social media, as well as a few cheeky messages at the expensive of fellow €100m-plus signings Darwin Nunez and Jack Grealish.

It was pointed out by one user that Antony already had as many goals for Man Utd in 35 minutes as Nunez does for Liverpool.
