Why Arsenal are favourites to land Mudryk
Arsenal are interested in signing Shakhtar Donetsk’s emerging winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, and are in a good position to sign him in future transfer windows.
Mudryk has impressed so far this season, especially in the Champions League, where he has been showing his talents on Europe’s biggest stage, attracting the interest of some of the continent’s top clubs.
The highly-rated 21-year-old is valued at around £30 million by the Ukrainian club and has lots of Premier League interest, with the likes of Everton and Brentford also keeping an eye on his situation.
Arsenal, though, are favourites for his signature given their need for a winger, Mikel Arteta’s interest in him and the likely offer of European football in the next year.
Mudryk is a fan of Arsenal
Mudryk himself is a fan of the Gunners’ style, and has spoken about a potential move to Arteta’s side in the past, saying he enjoys the way they go about their football.
"Yes. I think every guy dreams about the Premier League,” he said when asked about a potential move to north London. “It’s hard to say but Arsenal is a very good team. Very good coach, I like the way they play," Mudryk added.
Former Arsenal player Kevin Campbell is also a fan of the player and feels he would fit in with the team well. “I’ve seen a few games of his,” Campbell told Highbury Corner. “Young lad, very gifted,” he added.

Campbell then said that Arsenal have the upper hand in any potential negotiations as they have Oleksandr Zinchenko – the Ukraine captain – on their team, and that could work in their favour.
“Obviously, his [international] captain’s at Arsenal. So he’s probably ringing Zinny and saying 'speak to the manager, get me over there,” Campbell said.
“He’s doing pretty well for himself at Shakhtar. He’s looking the part. Now he’s been linked to Arsenal, everybody’s watching him.
“I’d like Arsenal to have all the weapons. So no matter what, we could chop and change, and we’re still strong," Campbell concluded, feeling that Mudryk would only improve the Gunners.
