Christian Pulisic did not get the transfer from Chelsea to Juventus that he wanted this summer, despite the USMNT player pushing to leave Stamford Bridge.

Pulisic has had a frustrating period at the Blues as he struggled to earn the faith of manager Thomas Tuchel.

He will be hoping to have a better run under new boss Graham Potter, but his career could have taken a very different direction this summer had he been given the opportunity to pursue a move to the Serie A giants.

Juve held an edge for Pulisic

CNN Sports reported Ben Jacobs has revealed via Twitter that Pulisic wanted to team up with US international colleague Weston McKennie in Turin.

McKennie’s future has also been the source of speculation in recent months, though, with the American having been linked with a summer move to the Premier League. Manchester United were even mentioned briefly as a possible destination for him as the Red Devils continue to hunt for a central midfield player.

Man Utd were also cited as a potential suitor for Pulisic, but there were concerns that Chelsea did not want to sell him to a Premier League rival and no deal was ultimately brokered.

That was the high point of a tumultuous summer for the 24-year-old, who angered Chelsea fans when he posted a picture of himself socialising with Leeds players after they had just been beaten by 3-0 in an embarrassing fashion by the Elland Road club.

Pulisic has been at Chelsea since joining from Dortmund in 2019 for a fee of £57 million, which is the seventh-most expensive deal in the history of the club. He has struggled to live up to that price tag, though, and if he cannot quickly impress under Potter, the midfielder is sure to find himself as a candidate for a potential move during the January transfer window.
