Arsenal are believed to be interested in a reviving a move for Dusan Vlahovic after previously missing out on the Juventus striker last season.

The Serbian international joined the Italian side in January for around £70 million after rejecting Arsenal but recent reports have suggested that the Gunners could make a renewed approach for Vlahovic following Juve’s poor start to the season.

While Arsenal have shot their way to the top of the Premier League, Juventus currently sit eighth in Serie A, having won just two of their opening seven games.

With the pressure piling on manager Massimiliano Allegri, there was talk of Vlahovic considering an early exit from Juve but those reports have been dismissed by the player’s camp.

A source with knowledge of Vlahovic's situation told 90min: "He is not moving, he is playing well himself and he is fully focused on his game. He has been with Juventus for less than 12 months and is not looking to move.”

Vlahovic has scored four times in six league games so far this campaign to add to the seven goals he netted in the second half of last season after signing from Fiorentina.

The 22-year-old still has four years left on his contract and has no interest in leaving, having reportedly always held the ambition of playing for Juve and pushing for his initial move to Turin over other destinations.

Do Arsenal need Vlahovic?

Arsenal have been in fine form to start the new season and are the third-highest scorers in the Premier League, largely due to the goals of Gabriel Jesus.

The Brazilian has led the line up top for the Gunners since joining from Manchester City in the summer, scoring four times in the league, having featured largely as a winger during his time at the Etihad.

However, boss Mikel Arteta is wary over his side’s depth in attack, with Eddie Nketiah the only out-and-out striker capable of backing up Jesus.

Arsenal had attempted to sign another forward before the transfer window closed but failed in moves for Wolves winger Pedro Neto and Mykhaylo Mudryk of Shakhtar Donetsk.

The bright start to the season has filled the Gunners with optimism and Arteta may be keen on strengthening in January in order to build on the positive momentum surrounding the club.

While a move for Vlahovic may be unlikely, Arsenal may return with a bid for Mudryk in order to ensure they can continue their title surge.
