Klopp doesn’t fear Tuchel treatment by Liverpool
Liverpool continued their poor start to the season after their 4-1 loss to Napoli in their opening Champions League match of the 2022-23 campaign.
The Reds, who reached the final last year before falling to Real Madrid, had no reply to Napoli’s pace and intensity as the Italians won with ease.
The defeat added to Liverpool’s woes this campaign, as they’ve won just two of their first six league games and are already six points behind league leaders Arsenal.
Additionally, the loss raised questions about Jurgen Klopp, who is adamant he won’t have the same fate as countryman Thomas Tuchel, who was sacked by Chelsea on Wednesday morning.
Klopp calm about situation
Like Liverpool, Chelsea, too, had a tough start to the season and their problems were added to by the 1-0 defeat at Dinamo Zagreb in their opening Champions League tie on Tuesday.
Tuchel was sacked the next day over a phone call – which many believe to be a harsh decision given the infancy of this season – but Klopp is certain he won’t have the same fate.
"Not really, our owners are rather calm and expect me to sort the situation and not think someone else will," the German boss said after the defeat to Napoli.
It's the lack of desire, of aggression that is so worrying. Where the hell's this come from? They were 2 games - 2 goals - away from a quadruple 4 months ago.#LFC under Klopp all about intensity, fight. Never seen them this feeble in every dept before. Shocking. Embarrassing.

A lot of questions have been raised over the drop in intensity by the Liverpool side, as evident by the fact that they were 3-0 down at half-time against Napoli.
Fans have raised the point about the lack of investment in the midfield area despite injury issues, as Klopp has been forced to play the ageing likes of James Milner and Jordan Henderson quite regularly.
Liverpool signed Arthur Melo on loan from Juventus on the final day of the transfer window, but it’s seemingly not enough to bolster the team significantly.
The Reds face Wolves in their next game before their first Champions League home game of the season against Ajax, who are buoyant after starting their European campaign with a 4-0 win over Rangers.
