Mudryk: "I can't say no to Arsenal"
Shakhtar Donetsk star Mykhalo Mudryk has spoken about his future amidst rumours linking him with a move away from the Ukrainian outfit in the coming months.
The 21-year-old is one of the most highly-rated talents in Ukrainian football and has been linked with a variety of European clubs over the last few weeks.
There was even a belief that he could’ve moved to Arsenal on the final day of the transfer window last month, but a firm move was never made by the Gunners and he stayed with Shakhtar.
Now, he has spoken about his future, Arsenal’s interest and his desire to play in the Premier League at some point in the future.
Mudryk has Premier League dream
Speaking to CBS Sports, Mudryk said: “My dream is to play in Premier League, of course. Arsenal is a very good team, very good manager - so from my side, I can’t say no to Arsenal.”
He then reiterated that there are many figures involved in a transfer and that a decision to move is not just up to him: “But a transfer is not just up to my decision.”
Mudryk rose to prominence last season in Shakhtar Donetsk’s Champions League campaign, in performances against Real Madrid, which got many clubs’ attention, with some considering a move.
With days remaining in the transfer window, Arsenal made exploratory contact with Mykhaylo Mudryk’s representatives & were thought to be considering a bid to sign him. Arsenal received glowing reports about both his talent & temperament. [@gunnerblog] #afc pic.twitter.com/PCXLEM9vY6

This season has started off well for the player too, especially in Europe’s premier club competition, where Shakhtar Donetsk started with a 4-1 win over RB Leipzig.
Mudryk scored once against the Bundesliga side, and then proceeded to provide two assists as the Ukrainian side began their campaign with a big win.
Arsenal considered a deadline day move for the winger but their injury issues in midfield diverted their focus elsewhere on the final day of the transfer window.
Brentford were another club interested in the player, but never made a move as they had Danish international Mikkel Damsgaard on their books.
